Teacher Professional Development and In-Class Student Demonstration Lessons

Teachers participate in a series of professional development seminars as well as observe demonstration workshops in their classrooms. In these sessions, teachers are given a basic toolbox of techniques that they can use in conjunction with their school district’s language arts curriculum.

Teachers are taught new strategies to motivate student writing and improve reading comprehension. The professional development focuses on applied lessons and offers a background in the theory and philosophy of the Dramatic Impact learning process. These sessions also assist the teachers in the effective inclusion of the strategies in the development of engaging lesson plans. The final stage of the training includes in-classroom coaching by Dramatic Impact specialists, and follow-up consultation via phone or email as needed. In addition, customized handbooks containing integration strategies and language arts lesson plans are created for teachers in each program.
